EARLY ON, I would just stay in the car and take a photo. But my approach has gotten different. The more that I do this, the more I’m wanting to talk to people and know more about their houses, how long they’ve lived there. It’s kind of morphed into a study of these neighborhoods and the gentrification of what’s soon going to be the East Village. And I start to wonder, OK, are these houses still going to be there in five years?
