How Water Colors the Outdoors

Wess Daniels' paintings highlight The Natural State at its finest

I’M MORE inspired now to paint than I ever was before, and I’m not sure why. Maybe I’m older, and I don’t move around as much. I’m at home more than I was in the past—that probably has a lot to do with it. Used to, I was outdoors all the time. I love water. I always have. I love to be in the rivers and fishing and in the creeks. If I’m in the water, I’m as happy as I can be. I’d like other people to see what pretty places we have around the state, and I think a lot of people miss out on those things. Art helps me relive those moments, and you want to be able to capture that awe you have while you’re out there. So I haven’t quite got that yet, but I’m trying.
